This 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 experienced multiple ongoing mechanical defects that substantially impaired the use, value, and safety of the vehicle. The truck repeatedly displayed a check engine light, suffered from hard shifting and clunking during gear changes, and experienced persistent battery failure issues requiring repeated jump starts.

Diagnostic testing revealed defective glow plugs contributing to startup and shifting problems. In addition, the engine mounts and transmission mounts were found to be torn and required replacement. The battery also had to be replaced to address the ongoing electrical concerns.

After multiple repair attempts, the vehicle qualified for relief under California’s Lemon Law.

Consumers pursuing a statutory repurchase may recover reimbursement for down payments, monthly payments, towing charges, rental vehicle expenses, and related costs. In most cases, the manufacturer is also required to pay the consumer’s attorney’s fees and litigation costs.
